Forbidden Love

Internationally-recognised Bangkok-based women’s apparel brand Tawn C. launched its Fall and Winter 2018 collection called ‘Forbidden Love’ featuring clean-line silhouettes combined with its signature balance of masculine and feminine styles with a bold palette of black, white and gold mixed with bright hues such as canary yellow and ocean blue. Designer Tawn Chatchavalvong explains the inspiration of the ‘Forbidden Love’ collection: “Inspired by photographs of the Duchess of Windsor, the collection reinterprets iconic outfits of the Duchess by asking, what would the Duchess wear in her modern days?”

Tawn majored in Political Science, and spent the better part of a decade in Public Relations. He then decided to follow his passion. After his studies at an Italian-based fashion school, Tawn's work started appearing in print, online and on runways. As an award-winning brand featured as the first runner-up in the inaugural Vogue ‘Who's On Next’ competition in 2014, Tawn C.’s designs are featured regularly in prominent fashion publications, in addition to appearing regularly on celebrities and style influencers on social media.

 

Tawn C. is currently based in Bangkok and Paris. The brand is participating at Paris Fashion Week and Shanghai Fashion Week for international distribution. Tawn C. products are now available in Paris, New York and Kuwait at premium multi-label shops. In Bangkok, there are three Tawn C. boutiques located at premium malls.
