UnitedWood is founded and designed by Jonathan Cheng and Voon Lai. An alumnus of Asia’s leading fashion school the Raffles Design Institute in Singapore, Jonathan Cheng brings his couturier background and cutting techniques of over 10 years to the label. Voon Lai, a former architect with a fine arts background, has lived in London for 12 years and is a self-taught fashion designer. His out-of-the box affinity for shapes and lines and his love for the sculptural lend a sense of modernity to the collections.

 

These origins come together to create wearable statement designs that define a sophisticated and potent sense of individual style. The designers’ admiration for McQueen, Le Corbusier and Rauschenberg inspires their design language to make their women feel special.
